Muchísimo: el italiano es la lengua romance más cercana al español, con una inteligibilidad altísima en la lectura. Es categoría I del FSI. El alfabeto de 21 letras prescinde de j, k, w, x e y en las palabras nativas, y la pronunciación es muy regular, casi como la española, con el acento normalmente en la penúltima sílaba. El principal reto son las conjugaciones, que practicas a un toque en LingoBear.
Italia se unificó solo en 1861, y el «italiano» como lengua nacional es en esencia el toscano literario que difundieron Dante, Petrarca y Boccaccio. La mayoría de las regiones conservan sus propias variedades romances —napolitano, siciliano, véneto, lombardo, sardo— que los lingüistas consideran lenguas distintas y no dialectos del italiano estándar. LingoBear genera los textos en italiano estándar por defecto.
