El uigur (ئۇيغۇر تىلى) es una lengua túrquica karluk con unos 10 millones de hablantes, principalmente en la Región Autónoma Uigur de Xinjiang, en China. Es la lengua más cercana al uzbeko entre las grandes lenguas túrquicas. La escritura dominante en Xinjiang es un alfabeto persoárabe modificado, el Uyghur Ereb Yëziqi; las comunidades de la diáspora también usan el latino (ULY) y el cirílico (USY).
El uigur es aglutinante, con orden sujeto-objeto-verbo, sin género gramatical y con armonía vocálica plena: los sufijos cambian de forma para encajar con las vocales anteriores/posteriores y redondeadas/no redondeadas de la raíz.
