El marshalés (Kajin M̧ajeļ) es una lengua micronesia de la amplia familia austronesia, oficial junto al inglés en la República de las Islas Marshall. Unas 55.000 personas lo hablan en las islas y en comunidades de la diáspora en Hawái y Arkansas. Tiene dos dialectos principales, el rālik (ocaso) y el ratak (amanecer), hablados respectivamente en las cadenas de atolones occidental y oriental.
El marshalés tiene un sistema vocálico vertical de cuatro vocales: las vocales se distinguen solo por la altura (alta, media-alta, media-baja, baja), y la anterioridad la determinan las consonantes que las rodean. La ortografía moderna usa cedillas y puntos suscritos —por ejemplo ļ (l palatalizada), m̧ (m labializada) y ņ (n velarizada)— para escribir un rico inventario consonántico de unos 19 fonemas.
