El afar (Qafar af) es una lengua cusita de la familia afroasiática, hablada por unos 2 millones de personas en Yibuti, Etiopía y Eritrea. Usa el orden sujeto-objeto-verbo, tiene dos géneros gramaticales y se escribe con el alfabeto Qafar Feera, de base latina, adoptado en los años setenta.
