El manés (Gaelg) es una lengua celta goidélica de la Isla de Man, muy emparentada con el irlandés y el gaélico escocés. El último hablante nativo, Ned Maddrell, murió en 1974, y la Unesco declaró extinta la lengua en 2009; pero un movimiento de revitalización estaba en marcha desde la década de 1930, y la Unesco ha revisado después su estatus a «seriamente amenazada». Hoy unas 2.200 personas hablan manés, incluidos los alumnos de la escuela de inmersión Bunscoill Ghaelgagh.
A diferencia del irlandés y el gaélico escocés, que usan convenciones ortográficas gaélicas históricas, el manés emplea una ortografía al estilo inglés ideada por el obispo John Phillips en el siglo XVII y perfeccionada después. Así, «montaña» es slieau y «rey» es ree. La gramática conserva el orden verbo-sujeto-objeto, dos géneros y las mismas mutaciones de la consonante inicial que el irlandés.
