El chamorro (Finu' CHamoru) es una lengua austronesia de la rama malayo-polinesia occidental, autóctona de Guam y las Islas Marianas del Norte. Las estimaciones hablan de unos 58.000 hablantes entre las Marianas y la parte continental de EE. UU. Tras siglos de dominio español absorbió muchísimos préstamos del español: en algunos recuentos, cerca de la mitad del vocabulario común. Esto da una ventaja clara al hispanohablante.
El chamorro tiene el orden verbo-sujeto-objeto en las oraciones básicas, usa un sistema de enfoque de tipo austronesio y marca la oclusiva glotal con un apóstrofo (na' es «comida»). Presenta un infijo productivo -um- para el enfoque en el agente (kati «llorar» → kumati «llora») e -in- para el enfoque en el objeto, además de la reduplicación para los plurales y la intensidad.
